Illicit Drug

what's addiction ?
addiction could be a chronic disease during which an individual craves, seeks, and continues to work with a legal ( medication, alcohol ) or an illicit ( illegal ) drug, despite harmful consequences. individuals who definitely are addicted always abuse a substance despite the fact that they actually recognize it could harm their physical or social anxiety, result in accidents, or place others in danger.

The role of dopamine
typically, individuals take illicit medication to be satisfied or feel higher than they actually felt before. this aire of pleasure, or “high, ” that an individual gets from taking a drug comes from giant, rapid will increase in dopamine, a brain chemical. many of us get a dopamine “rush” from things we simply normally enjoy ( inclusive of eating sensible food or following our favorite music ). illicit medication cause a far more intense and longer lasting increase in dopamine. repeated exposure to giant, drug-induced dopamine surges dulls the dopamine system’s response to everyday stimuli. thus, the things we normally enjoy are now not pleasurable, and even the effects on your drug aren’t as robust as they actually once were.

alternative effects by the brain
other then drug abuse doesn’t only affect the pleasure pathway. it too disrupts the brain areas concerned in memory/learning and management over behavior, and that is why addicted individuals always use medication, despite the fact that they actually recognize it's harmful, and can be why it's thus challenging to stop, even if they wish to.

Illicit Drug Abuse

Abuse growing among older adults
though use of illicit ( illegal ) medication is relatively uncommon among adults over age sixty five, there has recently been a rise within the whole proportion of individuals 50 and older abusing illicit medication. in reality, the amount of current illicit drug users aged 50-59 nearly tripled between 2002 and 2009, from 900, 000 to more often 2. 5 million. a lot of older adults are too seeking treatment for substance abuse and eating increased hospitalizations and visits to emergency rooms ( up 60 p.c in 55-64 year-olds from 2004 to 2009 ) due to illicit drug use.

Baby boomers driving the trend
these patterns and trends partially reflect the aging on your baby boomers ( individuals born between 1946 and 1964 ). this might be for 2 reasons : ( 1 ) there have been a lot of individuals born for the reason that generation and hence there will be currently a lot of individuals for the reason that grow older than before ; and ( 2 ) baby boomers were more inclined than previous generations to work with illicit medication in his or her youth, that could be a risk issue for later use.

Drug Rehabilitation Programs

This time I will share about the type of drug rehabilitation programs.

There are two types of drug rehabilitation programs. The first is a regular program and two special programs.
The following explanation:

1. Regular programs are intended for patients who have drug dependence.

2. Special programs are intended for patients with particular care, in which patients were also accompanied by diseases such as mental illness.
The characteristics of patients who underwent a special program was hallucinating or another disease. Side so that the disease also need to be finalized.

Both regular and special programs patients will undergo a detoxification process.
There are two ways of detoxification for drug addicts. Detoxification is the process of removing toxins from the body an addict, part of the rehabilitation.

The first rapid detoxification or detox in a fast way.
Rapid detox is quite powerful because toxins disappear within two to three days. Only, this method is quite torturing patients. First, they will be injected with a drug called Naltrexone. Side effects, the patient will feel pain. In fact, pain is felt still felt though it was drugged. Patients should be tied even as struggling and screaming.
Only certain hospitals are using this way and there should be an anesthetist.

The second way is the natural detoxification.
This way is more widely used in the Drug Dependence Hospital. More subtle since issued its own poison.
On the first day placed in a detox, the patient will feel pain. The process continues until the fourth day, culminating in pain. At this stage, the hospital will give a sedative.
Entering the fifth day, the pain began to decline. Generally, the patient is completely clean on the tenth day. But there is also up to two weeks.

Drug Rehabilitation Programs

All drug addicts should be healed through this process. The reason is, that the body can produce antibodies and repair damaged cells while taking drugs. So to maximize the recovery phase until the patient otherwise completely healthy.

Once clean of toxins, they will enter the induction phase. Patients were asked to adapt to the hospital environment where they will undergo rehabilitation.

For regular and special programs will be different handler at this stage. So also in the later stages, especially in terms of counseling.

Next the patient will come in early or primary phase where he must understand that he is an addict.

Then, the process continues to the intermediate phase or pre re-entry in which the patient began to be taught and introduced losses drug use.

Then the last phase, which is entering the stage of re-entry, patients are taught how to behave when meeting refused and smelly things in life after leaving drug rehab. After all declared passed and allowed to come out, then he entered the so-called after-care.

Drug Rehabilitation Programs

The hospital also create programs for ex-addicts met for mutually reinforcing. In the event they can share their experiences after exiting.

Some Things You Should Do Before Choosing Drug Rehabilitation Centers.

Drug rehabilitation centers are often the main option that appears when the nearest dealt drugs. What should be considered?
Upon learning of a loved one, family member or friend suffering from drug addiction, a desire to free him of course so great. The same was felt by the people themselves, mostly drug addicts expressed her desire to be free but few managed to free himself without the help of others.
Moments like these help of a third party is needed, and Drug rehabilitation centers into a beacon of hope.

Where you should start? Here are some things you should do before choosing a Drug rehabilitation centers.

1. Level needs rehab
Given the cost and mental condition addict, determine whether addicts really need rehabilitation treatment. One type of drug addiction with regular use can still be handled with restraint, consultation with a doctor and help people around the addict. While two or more types of addiction and addictive drug in an amount not in control will be more difficult to cure and thus require rehabilitation care. If addicts use drugs that cause pain and can lead to death as an addiction, then the rehabilitation treatment is not negotiable. 2. Duration and type of treatment
If you are aware enough to decide what care you need most, then make a list. Similarly, if you opt for the rehabilitation of people close, make a list of what needs to be criteria for the treatment of addicts. Consider whether addicts also need mental care that accompany addiction. Mental treatment is medically or religiously required by addicts. Also estimate a minimum period to be negotiated with care rehabilitation center. Adjust rehabilitation center needs, do not push yourself because the result will not be maximal.

3. Location and surroundings
Consider whether it is better choose a rehabilitation center away from home or even close to the family. It relies on the addict. In some cases, being in a remote place and seldom met families make addicts feel ostracized. However, in cases of severe addiction, rehabilitation centers far from home to get them out of the stifling environment and make the healing process faster.

4. After Care Facility
After treatment, most addicts are still fragile and still needs help from the rehabilitation center. Therefore, offers after-care after a period of treatment may be a consideration for choosing a rehabilitation center.

5. Budget
With all of the above determination, return everything in consideration your budget. Choose the most appropriate to meet the requirements but still limit your budget. Nowadays we can find many ways Drug Abuse Treatment and recovery for people with drug dependence. The diverse ways of consulting the psychologist or psychiatrist, rehabilitation nursing, taking certain medications, etc..

The definition of healing is a condition in which the sufferer is really breakup with drugs and experience changes in personality and style hidup.Agar people with addiction can break away from the dependence on, there are some things that should be considered in the treatment plan for the patient.

Drug Rehab Treatment

The things that must be considered are:

STATE PHYSICAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL ISSUES FACING THE PATIENTS

Drug had an impact on the physical, psychological and social sufferer. Therefore treatment should be designed so that it can be effective in all three of these areas, with an emphasis on the things that are considered bad

That is, the parents or caregivers of patients should be able to see the state of the patient and the causes of drug abuse. When bad physical condition, then he should get a detoxification treatment first, then proceed to the next stage

If it turns out there is a problem on the personality of the patient, for example, children are not well-adapted to its environment, or stress management patients are not good, then he must first get therapy from a psychologist to address his personal issues. Whereas if the problems he faced seemed to come from the environment, such as friends or unfavorable other things, this is a problem that must be faced first. Patients can be moved temporarily to another place far away from friends without the need of rehabilitation or other healing methods.

These things are very important to know in order to cure people right on target. If problems are encountered is known with certainty, it would be easy to determine the most appropriate method of healing.

STAGES RELIANCE

Stage and Social Experiments
At this stage there are several types of treatment that can be used, among other things: Outpatient Treatment. Because at this stage the patient just starting to dabble using drugs or wear it on the socialization, the patient does not need to be included in similar initiatives that separates it from the outside world. Counseling in schools can be beneficial for those who still have the attention to the teacher or guidance counselor at school.

Other activities that can be performed in outpatient treatment is individual and family therapy. The therapist, of course, should be someone who is really an expert in the field of therapy such as a doctor, psychologist or psychiatrist who studied the problem of drug addiction.

Instrumental phase
When the patient has begun to further drug use, there are 3 treatment that can be taken into consideration, treatment should be given according to the condition of the patient at the time. When the family environment and social conditions allowed (no harm or more menjerumuskannya to use drugs). The following are a variety of treatments that can be given to people who were instrumental in stages:

After School Program
In this program, patients can still run their lives as usual in the morning (school, college or work). Later in the afternoon or evening, group therapy is conducted. This is usually in the form of group therapy meetings and went together on weekends. In addition, it can be done also individual and family therapy.

Partial Hospitalization
In the partial hospitalization, a victim of drug was allowed to stay at home, but every day she comes to rehab. In this place, the victim spends about 8 hours a day. There he can school or doing other things that have been programmed properly. Usually formal education and knowledge about drugs is included. Therapies can also be done at the time he was there. One critical support he got while in the program is the educational support and family therapy. As long as there are people in this program, families also receive education about drugs.

Habituation phase and Compulsive
At this stage the best way for a victim of drugs is to keep them away from the environment for people with habituation phase, short-term residential care can still be done. Short term residential care usually takes about 4-6 weeks. Short term rehabilitation center must have good programs are structured and implemented properly. In the program must also be included education about drugs both to the child and family coaching. Family therapy and coaching children should also be implemented, as well as meetings or programs that involve the surrounding community.

For people with addiction compulsive phase, long term care is recommended. Given program is usually not much different from the short term care, only it takes longer, usually around 6 months to 1 year or maybe more.

Once a victim has attended drug rehab program, there is a program called Halfway House which could be followed. Halfway house is a transitional program between rehabilitation centers and the return of their son on life coaching with her family environment. At this time also they usually perform activities or complementary therapy that they can follow after they actually get back to the important rumah.Hal to be remembered by the child's parent or chaperone is building a rehabilitation center either short or long term does not guarantee children bina will be fully recovered once out of the rehabilitation center. Bina children still need guidance after coming out of rehab and the support of the family.

VICTIMS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED DRUGS
(such as school achievement, attitudes, traits, emotions, employment history, etc.)

Personal assets are owned by people with addiction is very important to know. The point is to look at the advantages and disadvantages of the patient. If deficiencies are known, it will be easier to do therapy or support activities to further strengthen it. While the advantages need to know to help your child discover a talent or interest in community development, which she developed after she came out of the treatment process. Therefore patients should be given Vocational Assessment.

That needs to be seen as personal assets, according to Joseph Nowinski (1990) are:

a. Education

- Advantages and shortcomings of academic
- Owned academic potential
- The things that need to be given after the child completed the treatment process
- Interest in the work
- Circumstances or intellectual talents

b. Social Skills

- Communication skills
- Social competence (how he got friends, relationship with friends, receiving his friends)
- Recreation (favorite activities, interests, etc.)
- Stress management (ability to adapt and cope with stress)
- Self esteem

c. Faith

Faith is important in the healing period because in the healing needed strong faith to overcome the challenges that will be faced by sufferers.

PATIENTS FAMILY EVENT

Family circumstances are also of paramount importance in planning therapy. Positive or negative value in the family need to know to design the most appropriate type of treatment for the patient. Just as personal assets, positive family values can be used as supporting patient success in escaping the addiction of drugs, while a negative value family should be corrected so that the family can function more effectively in helping the patient, either during treatment or after he returned home .

Important things to note are:

a. Drug Use By Parent or brother Patients

- Who is roughly also involved with drugs in the family

- What are the consequences for the patient

- What kind of therapy which is roughly appropriate for this family

b. Conditions Spiritual Family

- Togetherness in the family

- Faith Family

- Trauma in the family
