Drug Treatment Facilities, Therapy And Rehabilitation Program is a means, a series of programs and services provided to the addicts to escape from dependence on drugs until they can live free
without drugs. There are many treatment facilities and rehabilitation of drug abuse around us. However, not a single program suitable for all types of addicts, because the healing process is highly individualized.
A wide range of therapies and rehabilitation programs available are as follows:
1. Inpatient
a. Inpatient Drug Rehabilitation is special (Drug Dependency Hospital), Mental Hospital, or General Hospital. This therapy is often called primary treatment.
b. The duration of therapy varies, it can take up to 4-6 weeks or maybe more depending on the method of treatment used, maybe even up to 2 years of rehabilitation programs.
c. Services performed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, which consists of: psychiatrists, physicians general, psychologists, social workers, nurses also a peer counselor.
2. Outpatient
a. In the hospital (special and general) outpatient department, clinic or health center.
Normally it takes 2-3 hours for 10 weeks with a frequency of 3-4 times a week.
b. Outpatient programs have fewer components than inpatient programs.
c. Day treatment program or programs during the day, clients remain in their homes and therapy do during the day so it does not interfere with school activities, college or work.
3. Rehabilitation
There are several types of rehabilitation facilities, namely: social rehabilitation, rehabilitation, spiritual and psychosocial rehabilitation. There are government-run or private. Some of them apply the concepts theraupetic community (TC) is a collection of ex-addicts community in which they help each other to recover and stay quit drugs. Which are as follows:
a. Using the power peer counselor (former users who have recovered, selected and trained) with 1-2 persons professional counselor.
b. The program can be primary or secondary, the program lasts 3 months to 2 years with an emphasis on the process of socialization.
c. Some TC addicts require isolation from the surrounding world. But some are not, therapy is usually performed confrontational.
d. TC almost like a dorm, where there is a fixed daily schedule and its members maintain and manage the facility.
4. Half way house (home assistance)
a. As a means of transition from the process of therapy and rehabilitation to the social environment, where former addicts live together aided by a supervisor who comes from professionals, usually consists of 20 people and addicts were responsible for maintaining their residence such as shopping, cooking, cleaning the house, etc.. The goal is that arises a sense of responsibility on the former addict, discipline and
able to socialize with the outside world. This program has not been widely applied in
Indonesia.
b. Type of treatment is suitable for addicts who do not make much progress
during primary therapy, for those who do not have access to a hospital / rehabilitation center and for those who can not be repatriated to his neighborhood.
